What is R-407C?

R-407C is a blend of R-32, R-125, and R-134a, designed as a modern alternative to older R-22 refrigerant. It’s commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial cooling systems, offering reliable medium and low-temperature performance. With characteristics close to R-22, it has become a go-to option during the transition away from ozone-depleting refrigerants.

This refrigerant works at moderate to high pressures and is compatible with POE (polyolester) oils, making it suitable for retrofitting existing systems. While R-407C has zero ozone depletion potential, it still carries a relatively high global warming potential (GWP), which has led to gradual replacement by newer, lower-GWP options under international regulations. Even so, R-407C remains a trusted and practical choice for systems where immediate alternatives aren’t feasible, keeping operations efficient and dependable
